While window shopping, a in-store sales lady approached me about this new product by L’Oréal Paris. I already use a foundation by L’Oréal Paris and I am obsessed with it. That is the reason I listened. She spoke more about the competition they were running more than the product itself. Out of the four other Sugar Scrubs she “prescribed” this specific one for me. R159,95 later, I had a new product to try out, the L’Oréal Paris Pure-Sugar Smooth & Glow Grapeseed Scrub. I did my own research (when I got home) on the product and decided I will write a review after using it for one month (4 weeks).
What is a Sugar Scrub
Sugar scrubs are one type of numerous scrubs that exfoliate dead skin cells at the surface of the skin. Not meant for daily use a good sugar scrub can help create the appearance of smoother, naturally glowing skin. Just as in the name a Sugar Scrub is made from sugar.
L’Oréal Paris Pure-Sugar Smooth & Glow Grapeseed Scrub
A natural blend of three pure sugars (blond sugar, brown sugar & white sugar), I personally had never heard of blond sugar before this, it is a little closer to raw sugar and less processed than white sugar. The sugars are paired with Acai (South american palm tree), and two oils of Grapeseed (oil from grape seeds, rich in vitamin E) & Monoi (infused perfume-oil). Suitable for face including lips.
What should it do?
Immediately: should leave skin clean, feeling smoother and looking glowy.
Over time: should have skin clean, feeling baby-soft, smooth, and comforted with a visible glow with continued use.
My First Impressions of The L’Oréal Paris Pure-Sugar Scrub
The price is not that cheap, it is not that bad either at R159,95. The packaging is beautiful, very luxurious and simple. The scent, is amazing. You could almost eat it. Do not eat it. Upon my first use, my skin felt instantly smooth and moisturised before I could apply my moisturiser. My lips too did not dry out throughout that day.
I used the scrub 3 days a week, Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s in the morning. Also used as per packing institutions.

Results of The L’Oréal Paris Pure-Sugar Scrub
I stuck to the routine without fail. How ever Dololo glowy skin, zero smooth skin. Yes my skin feels clean. Only with the first use did I feel the smooth skin, now my skin is just as it was. My before and after pictures were very useless because you do no see the difference. My lips though have stopped drying out and flaking. I genuinely expected to see a drastic change. I expected zero to 100 glow-up, okay maybe 50.
My Final Verdict
For me it was extremely useful for the lips and made no difference for my face. I will only continue to use as a lip scrub. It Was Not a Worthy Purchase.
